Koho Tadami Diary Entry - November

When I arrived in Tadami, one of the things they asked me to do was write a short article in the town newspaper each month. The newspaper is called the Koho Tadami, and it's a free newspaper that is delivered to every home to let them know what's going on in the town. Apparently my activities are of much interest as I am the only foreigner. I write them in English and one of the teachers translates them for the paper, which is why the English is usually quite simple. I thought I would put the English versions up on this blog so I can keep a permanent record of what I wrote.

Bryn’s Diary Entry – November

It’s now nearly 3 months since I arrived in Japan. I can’t believe how quickly November has arrived. In England we have a saying: “Time flies when you’re having fun!” My time here in Tadami is certainly going very fast as I am having lots of fun.

Last weekend I went to Tokyo. It is a great city and there is so much to see and do there. I stayed in a capsule hotel for the first time which was a new experience for me. I had a great time in Tokyo but it was also nice to return to Tadami and the beautiful countryside. The photo is of me in Shinjuku it is very busy and very different from Tadami.

It is my birthday this weekend and I am turning 23. It will be my first birthday away from my friends and family back home, but I have many new friends here which is very nice. A friend of mine from England is also currently in Japan. He has been travelling around the world and is staying in Japan for 2 weeks. He hopes to visit Tadami while he is here.

The first snow fell this week which means winter is almost here. I have never experienced snow like you get in Tadami but I am looking forward to learning to snowboard.
