Leaving England

Writting these posts 6 months on from the time does feel a little strange, though it does give me the advantage of being able to reflect on how I felt at the time. I'm basically using emails that I sent at the time and just copying them in here so that I have a record of my events in Japan.

So before I left I was feeling very excited, anxious and also a tiny bit nervous. The realisation that I spoke absolutely no Japanese set in a couple of days before I left. Luckily I had the experience of my brother Greg to draw from, as he had been in the same situation before he took part in JET a few years ago. Knowing that he had survived ok, with no Japanese did put my mind at ease a lot. I will never know if I would have taken part on the JET programe I hadn't heard about it through Greg's experience, but I was certainly looking forward to embarking on my own adventure.

Thank you to everyone that made it down to Sunny Holbury for my leaving night out at Jongleurs and also to the BBQ at my house. I had a great last weekend in England. Special thanks to my parents for getting the BBQ organised and letting my friends stay over. I've put a few photo's below of the BBQ unfortuneately I don't have any of the night at Jongleurs so if anyone does please could you email them to me?
